hostd8.com never could get their service running

Too good to be true, I guess.

hostd8.com never could get their service running for me. I'm not sure if it's total incompetence, or just a money grabbing operation.

In any event, after more than a week of their inaction on my ticket for support, I must conclude that they aren't a serious player and not worth the cheap price.

Better to find someone else.

ipv6 only hosting

I see now that there are some hosting and vps providors which are selling ipv6 ONLY hosting. No dual stack.

If you want dual stack you pay more.

Check this one out.

At a dollar a month, it's certainly priced low. Would be good for testing and some simple hosting meant for the ipv6 community.

Want to get my site enabled for ipv6 web

I've edited the http.conf file to listen on my ipv6 address, but it doesn't seem to be working.

Need to take a closer look at that. Next is mail.

Getting http working for ipv6 is the next step in my ipv6 certification with he.net.

Just got 10 more ipv6 address and reverse dns

Quickly after making my request...i got 10 new ipv6 address...not like they are running scarce, but I am glad I got them quickly and FREE.

So far so good with fanaticalvps.

Here's the end of the trace to show the reverse dns is working now as requested.

Running a dual stack vps with ipv4 and ipv6 for $2,50 a month

Just got a new vps that supports ipv6. There are still ipv4 addresses out there right now. Soon they will be gone though and it's good to be dual stacked. That means have both ipv4 and ipv6 on the host.

Here's a link to the providor if you want such a host

https://client.fanaticalvps.com/aff.php?aff=041

I got the most basic vps for now at $2,50 a month to start with.

My host is http://solsidan.bot.nu which is reachable on either ipv4 or ipv6.

What's nice is that this dual stacked vps also has the ipv6 address in the control panel so it's nicely integrated. I haven't reloaded to a different OS, but I assume that the ipv6 address works even after an OS change.

So far so good! I'm working on getting the reverse dns working
